Pamela is a documentary photographer and explorer from Mexico, who has built a body of visual work and organizations around climate justice and gender equality, including Climate Words and Latinas for Climate.
With degrees from Parsons School of Design in New York and the University of the Arts London, Pamela has combined her unique background and education to address the climate crisis. As a CNN and Rockefeller Foundation Climate Storytelling Fellow, she was selected from over 15,000 applicants to join an elite cohort of 15 young journalists dedicated to highlighting the profound impacts of climate change.
Pamela was awarded the Getty Images scholarship to complete her MA in Photojournalism and was awarded by The British Journal of Photography: Edition 365 ART3, LH Horton Jr Art Gallery, Photofusion: SALON/21, among others. Her work has been featured in Vice, Atmos, and Vogue and exhibited in United Airlines, and at the United Nations COP26.
In 2021, Pamela co-founded Climate Words, an online lexicon providing accessible climate literacy with definitions crafted by frontline experts. For this work, she received The Young Climate Voice Award 2023 from The World Around and was honored as a Young Explorer 2024 by The Explorers Club and Adventure Canada.
